Introduction to BMFF in Cleveland

My name is Christine Russell, and my company, On the Edge Films, brings the Banff Mountain Film Festival (BMFF) to Cleveland. Thanks for visiting my blog, hope you'll keep checking back for updates and to comment.

As an avid cyclist, in-line skater, hiker (and sometime kayaker), I fell in love with the Banff films the first time they came to town 11 years ago at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Guess lots of Clevelanders feel the same, because we are now showing the festival at the beautiful Allen Theatre in Playhouse Square Center!

It's been a long and interesting journey getting to this point. What started as a small one-night crowd at the museum has developed into a very loyal following that grows year after year. We all get hooked on these visually and emotionally exciting, thought-provoking films with photography that spans the globe. Most of these films cannot be seen anywhere else, so the second weekend in April is always a time to celebrate the adventurous spirit of these talented athletes and filmmakers.

The BMFF is currently on the road traveling across North America. It will reach our part of the world on Friday, April 11 & Saturday, April 12. Whether you are an experienced mountaineer or an armchair adventurer, get ready!
